Two girls found her by a busy road and kept her safe in an Amazon box until we arrived. By evening she had a name, a clean vet check, her first bath and a garden to explore.
She arrived in a parcel and she is a real little star, so her name is a nod to Paris Hilton.

The call came that morning: a tiny puppy had been seen next to a busy road. All we had was a location, so we got in the car right away. It was a long drive, and every minute counted. The whole way we kept wondering whether she would still be there when we arrived.
At the location we found an Amazon box standing right next to the trash. We looked inside slowly, and there she was: a tiny puppy curled up in the corner. Two girls had spotted her by the side of the road. Afraid she would run off or be hit by a car, they put her in the box with food and water and called us with the exact location. They did exactly the right thing.
We started with water, then opened the food. She did not waste a second; she was that hungry, and every bite seemed to give her strength. When her little belly was full, she finally had the energy to look around.
We packed everything up and took her with us. She was never going back into that box. In our arms she stayed completely calm, as if she already knew she was safe. On the road she started checking out everything in the car: every seat, every bag, every hand. Before long she fell asleep, right in the middle of all the noise.
When she woke up, she wanted attention and loved being held. She had arrived in a parcel, and she was a real little star, so we named her Parcel Hilton. A few hours earlier she had been alone in a box; now she had a name and people who cared about her. The bumps in the road did not bother her at all.
Then the energy came back. She chewed on fingers, sleeves and shoelaces, climbed over us and over everything she could reach, and nobody in the car was safe from her. She loved her belly rubs, and she was learning that hands mean love, not danger. All that playing finally wore her out, and she fell asleep again.
When the car stopped, it was time for the vet. First she stepped onto the scales, then came a full check from head to tail: eyes, ears, teeth and belly. The vet was fascinated by her, and the verdict was good: she was healthy. She was given all the medication she needed, and outside she met her very first doggy friend.
Then came her very first bath. She was not sure about the water at first, but as the dust from the road washed away, she started to like it. Dried and fluffy, she hardly looked like the puppy from the box. After dinner it was playtime, first inside the house and then on a short walk in a nearby garden, where she sniffed every bush.
