On a very cold day, we found him abandoned in the snow near a large lake, and he tried to hide. Then he came to us, and we stayed with him until he felt safe.
His name is a nod to the singer Ozzy Osbourne, because he really enjoyed the coziness of the blankets.

The call came as an emergency: an abandoned puppy, somewhere in the snow around a large lake. It was very cold, and he was out there alone. As soon as we arrived, we started searching the ground around the lake for any tracks he might have left.
The search took a while, until at last we saw him. There he was, a small puppy with snow caught in his coat. We called to him, but he was not sure of us at first and tried to hide. We could only guess at what he had been through.
But then he came to us, lowering his head toward the hand we held out. From that moment we knew it was going to be OK. We stayed with him until he felt safe with us, and only then did we think about taking him home.
Home would have to wait a little, because he was shivering with cold and warming him up came before anything else. He settled into the blankets with his head close to our hand, and he loved how cozy they were. He was hungry too, so hungry that we believe he had not eaten for days, and when his first meal came, he ate every last bit of it.
With his belly full, it was finally time to go home, but our first stop was the vet. The puppy who had tried to hide from us now wagged his tail during the check-up. He had been itching constantly, so he was examined, and samples were taken. Overall he was healthy, and the itching, it turned out, had a simple cause: he had a lot of lice.
The lice could be cured easily, and we left the vet with his medicine. Once we got him home, he had a drink, and then we could do something about the itching. The treatment turned out not to be that bad, and a thorough bath followed. Warm, fed and clean at last, he was ready to play.
After some play, he stopped in front of a mirror and stood nose to nose with his own reflection. Not long before, he had been alone in the snow by the lake, trying to hide from the people who had come to help him. When we filmed his story, we were looking for a family for Cozy Osbourne.
