Alone in the mud after a massive rainstorm, she was screaming for help when we found her. She was very scared, but before we set off for home, she ate a few bits of food from our hand.
Her name is a nod to the singer Tina Turner, for how small she was when we found her.

After a massive rainstorm, we were out on another rescue, following several reports of a few abandoned dogs in faraway places. The first place we searched showed no sign of a dog, and the next was empty too. When we did find one, it quickly got away, and we searched on and on with no luck.
We were already on our way back, the search all but over, when we found something among the stones. It was a small puppy, and she was completely alone. Her coat was thick with mud and dust from the rainstorm, and she was screaming for help.
She was very scared. We tried to calm her down, stroking her muddy back with a gentle hand, and it took some time before she began to trust us. She was only around 50 days old, with no family of her own, and we took her in.
Before we left, she ate just a few bits of food from our hand. She cried when it was time to go, but once she was settled on a blanket, she began to calm down. She was so small and fragile. Then the journey back began.
We finally arrived home, and she was still quite dirty, so before anything else she needed a bath. By the time we were done, she looked brand new. At an early dinner she ate with an appetite, a good sign after the few bits she had eaten earlier.
We spent the rest of the day together, with lots of games and happy moments, and we bonded. It had been a very long day, though, and by the end of it she was ready for a nap. She fell asleep curled up in a soft white bed.
The next day we went to the vet, as we had planned from the moment we took her in. We did all the checkups, and she was given some medicine for her tummy. At the end of it all came the answer that mattered most. She was healthy.
We decided to end the day with a trip to the park. She lay in a dog bed out on the grass, clean and dry, only a day after we had found her screaming for help in the mud. When we filmed her story, we were looking for a family for Tiny Turner.
